Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
Hello, I've got a 10-15 year old Bradington Young wall hugger recliner. The glide mechanism has started clunking pretty bad so I took a look underneath. I can see where the glider has worn and it's in the area circled in red below.
Can just the glide mechanism be replaced on this chair?

Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
You should be able to. You will need to have the model number of the unit and then we can check and see if it's still available.
Tip: 90% of folks don't have their receipts or know the model number in these situations. Nothing we can do without it, and its not usually on the chair itself. I always suggest you keep your receipt in the seat cushion for that reason. Unzip the cushion zipper and stick it in there, and you will always have it for replacement parts or cushion cores.

I'm trying to find the model number.... Any hints from the photo of the chair itself? I don't see one quite like in in the current catalog.
** Update. 2005 model 3853
Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
No, sorry. Too many hundreds of chairs gone by over the years.....Once in awhile you can get lucky and the chair model is written on the seat core inside the cushion, and its usually a 6 digit number xxxx-xx. But they did not not regularly do that at B-Y

Update, it’s a 2005 model 3853
Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
I will check into that for you next week, they are closed until then. Glad you found it!
Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
The mechanism is available at a cost of $ 290 + Shipping depending on your location that charge will vary. You can order either here on the forum using QUOTES AND ORDERS section or call the store @ 703-360-6399, or email keepingroom@gmail.com. Most mechs take about three weeks to arrive.
Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
Wow cool. Is that for just the glider mechanism, or the whole undercarriage including recliner?
Re: Bradington Young wall hugger - glide mechanism
To the best of my knowledge that is the entire mechanism and recliner unit.
