My research so far tells me to read the serial number backwards to obtain the date of manufacture.
The serial number on the chest reads 052427.
Obviously, reading it backwards does not produce an actual date. Were the serial numbers ever stamped in the correct date order? Obviously, reading it backwards does not produce an actual date.
