I was wondering if anyone has heard of H&M having issues with their recliner mechanisms? A decorator is told me H&M is having problems with their mechanisms, but I am not sure I believe the story I am hearing. Has anyone else heard the Manufacturer is not shipping due to this reason? Thanks!
There is no truth to that rumor. Hancock and Moore uses Leggitt and Platt mechanisms, the top mechanism in the industry and supplier to many furniture companies.

Good evening from Boston! I just inherited an Austin Wall Hugger and it seems as though maybe some portion of the electrics have gone bad. I unloaded it and was super excited to try it out, however the hand lever on the inside worked for 1 second then fizzed out. Does H&M supply replacement levers? Maybe it's not the lever, maybe it's the motor? I bought a new transformer but both the old and the new transformer seem to be drawing power. Any advice on my potential mechanism problem would be appreciated! Thank you in advance.
Re: the above, it is #3032 in Aspen Tobacco
Yes you can get parts. My guess is the lever switch needs replacement, they get drinks spilled in the recliner and if sodas, etc, they gum up the switch. Quite common.
Transformers and motors never go bad unless an electrical spike occurs.
You can test with an ohmmeter to isolate the faulty component to be sure. If you just want a guess, the activation switch is most likely it.
