Your Way 1 is an older design, and I have two photos to show you the difference. Both are on the YM36 series chair.
See the back "Cut" marks on the Your Way 1 where the back recliner moves when operated? This is unsightly when you want to "Float" a piece like a sectional or a sofa in the room and not have it up against the wall. The recliner moves forward and about 1" to 2" back when operated.
Your Way 2 is a newer design from UltraMek, where the recliner moves fully within the frame in a forward direction. The entire recline function is within the shell of the exterior. Looks great from the back and doesn't say 'RECLINER" when you walk into the room. Plus its true zero clearance recliner.
They are priced the same and best I can tell they sit the same, so I recommend Your Way 2 if you can get the configuration you like (there are more options in Your Way 1).
