Thread: carpet for steps

What is the best type of carpet for stair treads? Any brand recommendations? Remainder of house has oriental rugs. Mike

Unfortunately, dog has problem on steps and I need to put something to prevent falls. She slips on the bare hardwood. I do not want to carpet but need a thin weave tread covering. I am guessing that a flat weave would work the best. Mike

If it is not going to be permenant, you can buy indivigual stair tread carpets. A bit of double sided carpet tape underneath will keep them in place. Search Home Depot, Lowes, Amazon, Wayfair and google.
