Would any of you recommend this dining table as far as quality? the local Stickley retailer has the table on sale for 3,400 for the highlighted border with solid core or 3,800 for solid top no border. why is the top with border less than the solid top?
thanks

Probably because the solid top is made of solid wood, the one with pattern is of veneers, and that can go over inexpensive core wood.

I am told that the core is mahogany. Is this good construction/good choice of wood for the core?
There are something like 230 species of Mahogany, from super-rich and gorgeous (certain Central American ones) to junk wood (Philippines, Indonesia). All that's required for a veneer underlayment is that the wood be stable and take the glue well.

Would you recommend stickley as far as quality? Do you have a table like the the Haverford that you would recommend in that price range?
I have to get into a store and look the table over to see how its made, I generally do not make recommendations on an overall product line because build levels can vary from piece to piece.

great! Could you give me a ball park figure on how much it would cost you to have a table made like this table?
You will have to post a photo or viable link....
